“He Vidyutonnati”

Last modified May 4, 2008

Dear friends, it is a great honour and joy to present the “He Vidyutonnati” CD. It is a beautiful musical exploration, a wonderful expression of musical sensibility.

Vidyutonnati Spitzer offers us here a jewel, a musical jewel. This music could easily be used to score a documentary about our planet; one feels like one is travelling around the globe. Here are Vidyutonnati’s own comments about himself and his music:

“My father is a professional musician too, so I started at age 3 with the flute, at age 5 with piano, at age 13 with guitar, at 19 with the double bass and for a short time the bassoon. Before coming to Sri Chinmoy, I played mainly Jazz and Funk music, studied classical music … which I still play professionally today. Coming to Sri Chinmoy’s path I got inspired by his music and tried to arrange it with my classical as well as jazzy background. Sri Chinmoy’s music for me is the ultimate, the peak of any musical sense.”

We are grateful to Vidyutonnati for his soulful and illumining offering.
