Sri Chinmoy was born on August 27, 1931 in Bengal, India (now Bangladesh). Every August more than 1,000 students of Sri Chinmoy from around the world gather to celebrate Sri Chinmoy’s Birthday.

Sri Chinmoy is a prolific composer of devotional songs. This year he composed his song number 13,000! He has also composed close to 7,000 English songs.

Sri Chinmoy’s students enjoy singing and arranging these songs. When we gather for his birthday, many instrumental and vocal groups perform their interpretations of Sri Chinmoy’s music.
