This week on Inspiration Sounds we feature two stories about the Indian Cosmic God Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati. Shiva is the presiding deity of destruction and regeneration while Parvati is known as a representation of Shakti, the divine female energy. Parvati is also regarded as the daughter of the Himalayas and Mother to Lord Ganesha.
Parvati is Jealous of the Ganga
In this story by Sri Chinmoy, Parvatis jealousy and insecurity are tested by Shivas preoccupation with his matted hair. Luckily though, her son Ganesha hatches a plan to help her.
Shiva Provides a Home for Parvati
Parvati has grown tired of her mountain homes with Lord Shiva and wishes to find a new place to live. However, even for a cosmic god this is more difficult than it seems.
