In his lifetime, Sri Chinmoy composed over 22,000 songs, the great majority of them being devotional songs. In these, he explores, in a poetic way, the whole range of human consciousness in the journey towards spiritual perfection. From the sense of loss and total separation to the experience of complete oneness with the Supreme. Sri Chinmoy’s songs manifest these myriad states of consciousness and human experience and testify to the universal aspect of his oneness with all of humanity, with humanity’s inner cry of aspiration for the Highest.
