Dear listeners, it is with great joy that we present you a delightful performance by Sangit Surabhhi from November 21, 2015. They came all the way from Canada to participate in our special Jharna-Kala function, in which we celebrated also Mantu’s (Sri Chinmoy’s brother) birthday and Thanksgiving as well.

Last modified November 25, 2015
Sangit Surabhi’s musical arrangements and interpretations of Sri Chinmoy’s songs are dynamic, cheerful and soulful, all at once! They have enriched the palette of musical textures and colors with their combination of harp, violin, flute, guitar, percussion and voices. The musical ideas are fresh, innovative and playful, with a very charming, delightful swing.
We hope you enjoy this musical offering by Sangit Surabhi.
Jharna Kala
Jharna Kala is the name Sri Chinmoy gave to his own spontaneous artwork. The translation of Jharna Kala is “Fountain Art”. Sri Chinmoy began painting on November 19th, 1974 in Ottawa, Canada, and this year was the 41st Jharna Kala anniversary. Sri Chinmoy also composed various songs about Jharna Kala, such as:
Jharna-Kala Moder Bala
“O Fountain-Art, Fountain-Art, Fountain-Art!
Gold-bright is our journey’s voice;
Gold-bright is our journey’s goal.
You are our hope-hearts’
Eternally hallowed Consciousness-Light supreme.
You are the delight-swing of silence-height
Beyond the shore of earth-sorrows
and Heaven-smiles.
O Fountain-Art, Fountain-Art, Fountain-Art!”
