This is the 3rd CD of a three CD set released in 2011 with Sri Chinmoy‘s performance from a seven-hour meditation-concert offered at Buchman Hall, Manhattan, New York on November 27, 1995.
Dear listeners, it is with great joy that we offer you the 3rd CD in this wonderful collection of performances by Sri Chinmoy.
Sri Chinmoy strived to share, through his soulful songs and music, moments of inner beauty, peace, light and bliss: the fruits of his lifelong practice of prayer and meditation. His music is imbued with the qualities of sweetness, softness, soulfulness and many others, all based on his inner cry, which he calls “aspiration”.
Caller: I would like to ask the Guru what kind of mental attitude one should have in learning to play music.
Sri Chinmoy: There is something called mental music, something called vital music and something called physical music. But again, there is something called psychic music. If one wants to get true delight from the heart and from the aspiring life, then he must dedicate his music to God. He must play soulful, psychic music — music that will inspire his own life of aspiration and inspire others who hear his music — not music that will excite the vital and arouse the physical consciousness.

Question: Can music and aspiration co-exist?
Sri Chinmoy: Music and aspiration can and do exist together. Of course, here we are talking only about spiritual music. Spiritual music is the illumining and fulfilling language of the universal soul. Aspiration is the inner cry; music is the outer smile. When we sow the seed of inner cry, we reap the fruit of outer smile. Soulful music and soulful aspiration are not only true friends but eternal friends. Music spreads the height of aspiration; aspiration increases the length of music.

We hope this music is of service to you in your inner journey towards light and perfection.
